My favorite of all of the Fred Vargas mysteries I have read so far. Vargas does a great job creating a puzzling, creepy mystery that can only be solved by the brilliant yet vague Inspector Adamsberg. The solution to the mystery was a little far-fetched, but I still enjoyed reading it. Vargas's characters are delightfully eccentric and human.
