Someone messaged offering a deal on bookshelf. After several messages I finally made a decision. And pmed them. After several messages I get no reply. So they are in book bazaar constantly talking about deals on shelf so I reply there and instead they start a new thread. It is yet plain rude. You want to make a deal then show some consideration and pm me back. Am I wrong?

That does seem odd.

Jamie,

Had something similar happen to me.  I sent a couple of  PM's each a few days apart asking about books that were being offered in a link on their post.  I know they had been online because they posted multiple times, I think I even responded in their thread and mentioned that I sent a PM about their books.  I finally just gave up and ordered the books elsewhere.  I don't know why they didn't respond even if it was to say they did not have them or didn't want to send them or whatever.  So, I feel your frustration!

Were you working out a deal different than what they offered in the Bazaar or are they just not following through with the offer they are making in the Bazaar? Had you ordered from their shelf to start the deal already when they quit responding? Deals between members are unofficial business, but it is frowned upon to be offering deals and not following through with them, especially if the books are getting requested and the sender isn't following through with the deal.

I've had people on my friends list send an (apparently) "blast" PM to everyone looking for certain books...they are no longer on my friends list. This is a misuse of the blast PM system, I think personally...if I want Spam, I'll visit the Hormel plant. :)

I had listed authors I was looking for a deal on.  They sent ME a PM stating this was the deal they would offer on a listed amount of books.  A week later I finally decided to order and pmed twice.  After no response, I looked on book bazaar to message them there with no response.  So I just gave up.  I mean they message me first, and didn't follow through.  If that answers your question.

That's why I basically ignore deal offers. I find too many people don't respond to PMs. So I assume they have already sent the book to someone else but just don't update their posts.
