When several people suffering from a rare illness were brought into the northern California hospital where Janina Scott worked, she became alarmed. As patient coordinator, Janina had witnessed outbreaks of diseases in the past. But there was something bizarre about these cases.
David Madison, a San Diego doctor who years earlier had left and indelible mark on Janina's heart, helped her to unravel a strange set of occurences linking the sick patients to one geographical area.
Janina and David sought aid, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. Janina began to wonder if there was anyone she could trust.. including David!
