I am looking for a book that I read about 5 years ago. Here's the problem: I don't remember the Title or the Author's name.

It's a book about a Midwife who lives in China, who deals with everything from birth control, births, enforced abortion etc. Eventually she manages to escape from China with her husband and children to start a new life in the USA. This book is a true story, however I'm unable to remember whether it is a biography or an auto-biography. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this was an absolutely fantastic book....and I've hunted for hours and hours to try and find it with no luck.

The book listed above is called "A Mothers Ordeal" it's the story of a young woman called Chi An, and was written with the help of Steven W. Mosher. My brother found it for me after years of my own fruitless searching. Hope anyone who is interested finds it, it's a great read.

I found this book horrific.  What I wondered was why she went along with government and forced abortions on other women, but it was a different story when she was the one pregnant with her second child.  Also I do not believe she had a caesarian without anesthesia.
