What a brave woman Marianne Pearl is. This book is such an intimate look at her life as well as a first hand account of her husbands kidnapping and death. It is a lesson about the complexities and random brutal terrorism that goes on in this world on a daily basis.

The down side to the audio is that it is sometimes difficult to understand because it is read by the author so there is a slight language barrier. Also there are so many characters with very long and similar names that made it difficult for me to follow sometimes.

Don't let that stop you though. It is definitely a must read.

True story so this is a hard one to read. It is hard due to the subject matter of love and death but a very worth while read. I found it never dull and moved smoothly along until you felt like you knew this couple for years. Very tragic but Ms. Pearl moves on with life and brings to point how precious our time together really is. So worth my time.

This was a fantastic book, although after several chapters of the book mentioning terrorist's names, I began referring to them as Bad Guy 1 and Bad Guy 2. Very hard book to put down.

A well written book. The courage that Daniel had as a journalist to uncover the truth in countries where the truth ccan be hidden and oppressed is quite compelling. Mariane's courage as a wife and mother to be was heartwrenching. I am so glad to read her book and I hope others will too. I also learned more about Pakistan and the War on terror.
