Twice Lord Liam Fawke has been robbed of his birthright. Now the only thing that stands in his way is his brother's heir and alluring widow.

Lady Joclyn of Rosemoor refuses to be intimidated by her late husband's boorish bastard brother and will defend her son's inheritance with all her might.

Their battle of wills starts from their first meeting and only ends with an edict from the King. Reluctant partners, Liam and Joclyn travel home to Ashlingford. Their truce is fragile, but admiration and respect soon make them friends and secret lovers. Together they vanquish treachery, betrayal and pestilence.

But their love is forbidden by church and state, and it will take courage, strength and a small miracle before Joclyn and Liam can claim a future together.

Ms. Leigh is a talented and skillful storyteller. She captures a bygone era and brings it to life through her characters, and her sensual narrative. It is always a pleasure to read one of her romances. SENSUAL (July, 400 pp.,
