Miss Julia Stands her Ground is the 7th in the Miss Julia series by Ann B. Ross. This time Hazel Marie's money hungry preacher uncle is back trying to get Little Lloyd's money taken away from him. He claims that the child is not the late Mr. Springer's son. On top of it all, Miss Julia has to decide if she wants to run to be a member of the session at church. She would be the first woman, so it is stirring up more trouble for our Miss Julia. This book also goes into the first few months that Hazel Marie and Lloyd come to live there. Great background that you didn't realize you were missing.

Another enjoyable Miss Julia adventure. I think what I enjoyed most about this book were the flashbacks where we learned more about her early days with Hazel Marie and Little Lloyd. I have a little trouble putting this series in the "mystery" category, but the series is so delightful I enjoy it anyway and always look forward to her next adventure.

Miss Julia continues to soften up after her marriage; while she continues to care deeply for her family (nonconventional though it may be) we see her becoming a bit less worried about the opinions of the rest of the town. But in this story, little Lloyd's paternity is questioned, and she goes into Miss Julia Overdrive Mode to make sure Hazel Marie escapes unharmed.

Miss Julia is always getting into a mess. This time someone tells her that her grandson is not really her faithless dead husband's child, and she has learned to love the little boy.

I love all the Miss Julia books, but I think this one may be my favorite so far. I love the insights into the past, and have had tears (good tears) in my eyes several times throughout this story. It makes you realize how far Miss Julia has come, how much she has opened up her heart to her loved ones.

Wow she is such a strong lady. The things she has done since her husband died was amazing. She keeps her faith even though she sometimes needs reminded of what she has.She buckles down and does what she needs to do. I cant wait to read the rest of the MIss Julia books By ANN B ROSS

Miss Julia and Hazel Marie are back in the midst of the mess when Brother Vern returns to once again stir up trouble.

I love this author and her southern flair!

When long-lost relatives come out of the woodwork, it can mean nothing but trouble. Once again, it's left to Miss Julia to set things right. A classic Southern comic novel.

I actually listened the the Misss Julia books on tape. They are so funny and have such charm and perspective from different characters. She is an older, socialite type lady, complete with a maid, whom she treats like family, and a few family memebers. She gets herself in to little interesting situations.

This was not my favorite Miss Julia book. It kinda seemed to me ground that we've already covered previously. It is still Miss Julia, though, so entertaining! In this one Brother Vern reappears to slander Hazel Marie. His first mistake is in approaching Sam, since he is the head of the household, which of course makes Miss Julia mad immediately. He is claiming that Miss Julia's late husband is not the father of Little Lloyd and produces a "lookalike" who says he is the father.

True? Read it and find out!
