In hind sight, I should never have picked this book up.I needed it for a challenge but even so I should have skipped that particular item as I hate hate hate anything to do with gangs or the mob and this involves both. Domino Riley is an enforcer for one gang/mob ruled by Shanar Rashan. The thing is is that there are multiple "mobs" in California and even though they usually keep separate and don't hassle each other, for some reason one of them is skinning Shanar Rashan's people. It is Domino's job to figure who is responsible and she has that figured rather quickly. It's the why that has her stumped. Does the Haitian voodoo don really want to start a war with Rashan?

I found Domino to be a typical gangster - loud mouthed, I'm gonna kick you ass, etc. Absolutely too cliched and nothing that hasn't been written before, oh except for the vampire angle. Just boring and certainly not a series I will continue.
