From cover:

Mohowak, NY is a small town. Its citizens have fallen on hard times. Dallas Younger, a former HS star athlete, now drifts from bar to poker games. His ex-wife is stuck caring for her ailing father and his son is neglecting his schoolwork. Because in Mohawk, it doesn't pay to be smart. LOVED IT

Alright. Not one of his best, but still pretty good.

Russo\'s Upstate New York is gritty, down trodden and wonderful. Wonderful because of the people who populate this town. There are some very funny moments and some very sad moments, but that\'s what makes a horse race. Wonderful writing.

I loved this book and the story, though I found it hard to follow at times, and somewhat redundant. It took me a while to figure out all that had happened which made it both frustrating and interesting!

Love his books! This wd be a good beginning for a continuation of the dysfunctional Grouse family.
