I made these today and I rate the recipe a 10!!!!!  They are fantastic!  My daughter loved them too (and she's picky!)

This recipe makes 24 standard sized muffins.

MOIST BRAN MUFFINS

1 C butter or margarine, softened

2 C packed brown sugar

2 T molasses (honey could also be used)

2 and 3/4 C all-purpose flour (I used half wheat flour b/c I like it better)

1 and 1/2 C wheat bran

2 t baking powder

1 t ground cinnamon

1/2 t ground nutmeg

1/2 t salt

2 eggs

2 C buttermilk (substitute: put 1T lemon juice in the measuring cup and then fill the cup to the top with milk...twice, one for each cup)

2 C chocolate chips OR raisins (I split the batter in half and did both and liked both equally well!  I think these would also taste great with blueberries and I plan to try that next time.)

Preheat oven to 375.

In mixing bowl cream butter and brown sugar.

Add molasses and mix well.

Combine the dry ingredients in a seperate bowl set aside.

Combine eggs and buttermilk; add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients.

Stir in chocolate chips/raisins.

Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 3/4 full.

Bake at 375 for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
