I've been reading through the book "Money For Writers" by Diane Billot (ISBN 0-8050-5312-3). It's quite impressive.

The book is nothing more than a list of awards, grants, prizes, contests, scholarships and retreats. Here's an example.

1. Pearl Poetry Prize - $500 + publication +50 copies
2. Poetry; women writers
3. 3030 E. Second Street
4. Long Beach, CA 90803

I put the line numbers in there for easy reference. The first line is the name of the contest. The second line is what they are looking for (Poetry written by women in this case). Third and fourth lines are the address where you write for more information.

The only issues that I've had with the book are that 1) it's 10 years old, 2) it doesn't include internet contacts and 3) there's no index. So, the information is a bit out of date and you have to search to find things. Still, not a bad book.
