OK, it's finally out, and I was sooooo anxious to get it. But it's been so long since I read the others, and since I was late to the party, I pretty much read them all in a row. Now I do not remember much about them---except the ending of the last book, and the basic situation of her looking for her sister's killer and dealing with all manner of Fae. Can you pick up the new one without a refresher? Does she explain enough of what's happened before, for this one to make sense, or should I re-read before the new one? |

I've just finished Shadowfever. I think you will be able to pick the important things from previous books just from reading Shadowfever. I wouldn't waste the time to re-read the previous books before you read this one. You should be fine. |

I also just finished Shadowfever and generally agree with Chelsey, but I found that I had to struggle to remember some of the characters that were referred to. Worth reading all the books again, no, not unless you want to. But, maybe an argument for waiting until all books in a defined series are released before reading them.
