I enjoyed learning about the three sisters, that had never met each other and had nothing in common, who were left a ranch worth millions. Throw in a mad man running around killing people and small fury critters, and it made for a very enjoyable read. Oh yea, can't forget the steamy sex scences either :)

Another good Nora Roberts book with an interesting twist at the end about a father who dies and leaves behind a ranch worth twenty million dollars - now his 3 daughters - each born of a different mother and each unknown by the others - are gathered to hear the reading of the will. But the women are shocked to learn that before any of them can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for 1 year.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is one of my Favorites by Nora Roberts! I wish this were a three part story though cause it's told from the perspective of one woman, I wish it would pick up from one of the other two women's perspectives and keep on going. Like how the Garden Series did. The Blue Dahlia, Black Rose & Red Lilly.

A great mystery until the end. I never would have guessed the story line. What more can you ask for? Love, romance, mystery, death, birth, etc. GREAT, great book!!!

This book is the perfect example of judging by the cover. I have had this book for quite awhile and have neglected to read it because it just did not grab me reading the cover. But, since I am one of those who reads an authors entire book list, it was time. I LOVED this book. Grabs you at the beginning and is full of so much humor with the interaction between the three siblings, which in this case are strangers, and the strange environment two are forced to live in. Many times, I found myself laughing until tears were streaming, but yet it is so very believable and such an interesting read from cover to cover. Just disregard the cover intro.

Loved it! Three half-sisters inherit their father's ranch; however, they do not know each other, and, according to the will, they must live together at the ranch for a year to inherit. Great story with enough mystery, murder, and romance to keep those pages turning.

When Jack Mercy died, he left behind a lot of enemies and a ranch worth nearly twenty million dollars. Now his three daughters, each born of a different marriage, and each unknown to others, are gathered to hear the reading of the will. Willa, the only one who knew her father, boldly expects that everything will be hers. Tess, who has flown in reluctantly from Hollywood, just hopes to fly back with as much cash as possible and as soon as possible. And Lily Mercy would be grateful for anything; she has learned to expect disappointment, even cruelty, from men. But the women are shocked to learn that before any of them can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for one year. They are sisters...and strangers. Now they face a challenge: to put their bitterness aside and live like family. To protect one another from danger, and unite against an enemy who threatens to destroy them all. And finally, to weave together three very different worlds in this beautiful and isolated place called Montana....

A sweeping novel set on a twenty millions dollar ranch that is inherited by three sisters. Terms of the will require the women to live together on the ranch. The result is a satisfying Nora Robert's character study and epic tale full of romance, suspense and passion.

Another typical Nora Roberts (and that's not a bad thing). Three half-sisters (previously unknown to each other) forced to live a year together to inherit a multi-million dollar ranch. Of course, there's romance... and also mystery and trouble. As usual, interesting and diverse characters and vivid settings.

I loved it. Three half-sisters, who have never met, must live on a Montana ranch for a year, in order to inherit it. One has lived on the ranch all her life; one is running from an abusive ex-hustand; and the other is a sophisticated Hollywood screenwriter. If one leaves, they all forfeit. But someone is killing animals first, and then people. The book has excitement, mystery and romance. If you liked "Northern Lights," also by Roberts, you'll like this one.

Jack Mercy, a Montana rancher on a grand scale, has died and left his ranch to his three daughters. The girls are the products of three marriages, and none of them know the others at all. Brought together by the funeral and the reading of the will, they are stunned to hear the conditions attached -- in order for any of them to inherit, all three daughters must live together on the ranch for one full year. If any breaks the conditions, all forfeit their inheritances, which will total in the neighborhood of six million dollars each
