I really didn't find the characters compelling enough for the book to have more than 2-1/2 stars. Their cat-and-mouse game just seemed to drag on and on. And, the book didn't have a satisfying enough conclusion.

In an electrifyiny novel of intrigue and romance,I loved this book.
All the characters stay with you, wishing for 1 more page.
This story takes you to The New York society in the 1880s,where a scandal of intrigue, and seduction in mesmeizing tale.
MUST READ!

I read this book in 2002,was surpried to see it posted,loved it,and wanted a sequel about the missing brother.But never found it.
