Bleh. The crime scene cleaner in this book is just not very likeable. I read Aftermath, Inc. a year or so ago which also followed crime scene cleaners and enjoyed it. If you are interested in this subject, I would definitely recommend Aftermath, Inc., but not Mop Men.

I loved this book. Until I read it I didn't even know that people did this. A lot of detail, some of which is not too pleasant, but well written and a great read.

This book was much more interesting than I'd expected. The author does go over gory details & events, describe crime scenes, and tell exactly what the crime scene clean-up group does. But he also explores his attitudes toward death - both violent and natural. Writing as a man who lives in England and was raised in Denmark he compares some ideas about violence with those of US citizens. He has a very realistic attitude about writing a book which may seem 'sensational' on the surface, but really touches on his feelings and on the matter of how survivors are left to deal with sudden deaths.
