This was very thought-provoking for me. I had never thought about how the German people felt or dealt with their feelings following WWII. The author's mother was so conflicted about returning to Germany and with just cause as it turned out. This was well worth reading and I will be passing this on to my relatives. We are of German descent but our family left Germany in the early 1900s.
