Delightful. The inspector is quite a bumbler, but his housekeeper and staff are more than capable of solving the crimes, and making him think he did it all himself. Housekeeper is a little too nice to be believable, but I enjoyed this as my bath tub book. (The paperback I read and don't mind if it gets a little damp) If I ran across another of this authors books I would pick it up.

The first three books in the series conveniently put together in one place, this is a really enjoyable "cozy mystery" series set in Victorian London. It's especially good for those who are new to the "cozy" genre.

It includes: The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries, Mrs. Jeffries Dusts for Clues, and The Ghost and Mrs. Jeffries.

Each of these stories is a gentle, yet lively and entertaining read that draws you in with quirky and lovable main characters, villains and suspects you'll love to hate, and interesting plot twists. It often proves a bit of a challenge in figuring out the "whodunnit" and "how" until the last chapter--or even the last few pages!

I've read many books in the series, and I've found that I don't really need to read them in order to follow the stories, although it's helpful--and more fun that way! Most of the books stand on their own, yet also make me want to find out what happened to the characters before in more detail, and definitely what happens to them next!

This book is a great introduction to the Mrs. Jeffries series. Contains the first three books in the series:

~The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries
~Mrs. Jeffries Dusts for Clues
~The Ghost and Mrs. Jeffries

By the time you have read the third book, you will find that all the characters are developing well, there is a great deal of action as Mrs. Jeffries and team hunt out clues to each murder, and how they manage to get their information to the Inspector without him knowing what they are up to. Funny and a good clean cozy mystery series. Will definately read them all!

The start (first three books of the series) of one of my favorite "cozy" series. Get to know all the wonderful characters in the late 1880's in England...Mrs. Jeffries is Inspector Witherspoon's housekeeper and behind the scenes murder solver. She and the rest of the Inspectors household staff are busy collecting clues to feed to the mild mannered police inspector. But, it is all done without his knowledge...

As always, great fun when Mrs. Jeffries gets involved. This includes the first three books in the series and sets the background and characters for the series.
