This was actually the first Jude Deveraux that I read and it instantly had me hooked. It has all you need romance and intrigue.

Jude Deveraux at her best, a little mystery, a bit of romance, a good looking guy, a little wit. I truly enjoyed this book.

Different than her usual books. But it does deal with a person trying to find themselves and not who they are with other people.

I am not a fan of romance novels, and even though this one isn't exactly a romance novel, there is an element of it in the story. I really liked it and am sorry to hear that this is different from the author's usual style of writing. Definitely a page-turner; fun trying to piece together the twists and turns of the story. Not exactly a mystery, either, but kind of a nice blend of romance, mystery, and plain, old-fashioned storytelling.

I enjoyed watching the heroine come into her own. One of those books I didn't want to end, I felt as if the characters had become friends. I wanted to know what happens next in their lives...maybe there will be a sequel?
