Is there a way to get multiple copies of one title without waiting to get them one at a time?  I have a small group of friends that read and I need 7 copies at one about once a year.

Not really.  I don't think many people generally have more than one copy of a specific title anyway.

You can get them to join PBS!

But barring that - buddy me a credit and I'd be happy to order and have it mailed to your address.  I've seen people do that before on here when someone was trying to get books for a book club.    Get 5 more of us to do that and you are set!

I knew someone would say that!  You can't believe how hard I've tried to get people going on this site around here. All I hear is "We're so busy....." They are missing out on so much fun!

Another thing you can do, if there are more than one ISBN for the book is order the book under the different ISBNs and HB and PB (if that doesn't make a difference).

If you'd like to buddy me a credit, I'd also be more than happy to order the book and have it shipped to you.  Pat

Sara,

I've ordered multiple copies for my classroom.  As soon as the sender accepts the request, you can order your next copy.  Just have to be diligent when marking them received.....I click on the PM button to verify the name of the sender, then hit back and mark it received.  That way I've used both state and name to identify the book that is received.

The only delay in this method is when a requestor waits to accept.......or it times out  :(

If you decide to go with the "have PBS friends order and send it to you", I'm willing to help also!  Cindy

I was going to suggest the different ISBN and bindings route.

As long as it is not a WL book, you can also post in the Book Bazaar that  you are looking for the book.  That will usually get you more copies in a quicker time frame that waiting on responses in the FIFO system. If it is heavily WLed books, sadly, you will probably not be able to collect 7 copies quickly from PBS.

You can order as many copies as you want if you order them directly from another member's shelf. The trick is finding out whose shelves they're on.

One way to do it is to post a thread in the genre forum asking for people who have title X on their shelves to respond to the thread.

Another way is to go to Box-O-Books and do a search there. Look for Boxers who hae nicknames showing up and then use the Member Directory to search for them.

As long as you click the Order This Book button while looking at the shelf, not at the book details page, you'll be ordering that exact copy of the book.

Sarah,

If it'll help I'll join the group getting a book for you.  If I counted right you have four of us willing to assist.
