Just signed up today.

Often I wish to request a book to be given as a gift.  It would save time and money if I could have the book shipped directly to the recipient.  Is there any way to do that currently?

Thanks,

Welcome!

Yes, you may!

From Help:

If you would like to request a book FROM ANOTHER MEMBER to send to an alternate address:

  • Order the book as usual
  • Enter the alternate name and address
  • A credit will be deducted from your account, just as with any request made to another member
  • When your friend receives the book, she or he needs to tell you that it was received.  Then you simply mark it received from your the "En Route to Me" tab on your My Account page, as usual, so the sender can get credit.

The option to request a book from another PBS member to send to an alternate address is available to you ONLY after you have first received 3 books from PBS

I just used this.  I ordered a book for my mother.  I did tell her about it in advance and reminded her that she needed to tell me when the book arrived.  It worked nicely....she recd her book today and I just marked it recd.

Yes, I do this all the time for my teenage son, who lives with his dad. It works great!

OK, thanks.  Why do you have to wait for your first three books before you can do this?
