When Alanna Knight created the character of Chief Inspector Jeremy Faro, she probably had no idea what a hit it would be. Inspector Faro of Edinburgh, Scotland is a proud man devoted to his job of deetective. In this mystery he finds himself attempting to solve several murders plus attempts on his own life. The character development of Inspector Faro is intriguing and this is a cannot put down mystery involving a young pianist, Lachlan Brown who is rumored to be the son of John Brown---iillie, confidant and rumoured lover to the Queen. Excellent plot and a real page turner as Faro tries to solve the murders only to be ordered to drop the case by his superior which adds to the intrigue. Great book!
