Wealthy heirs from all over America are dying. The only thing they have in common is they all belonged to a religious cult. Before they died they had willed their fortunes to the cult's leader. Maggie Maguire used to work for the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. Now living in San Francisco, Maggie decides to infiltrate the cult to find out what is going on.

I really enjoyed the Fremont Jones series and found this to be similar in setting and type of heroine. This is the first one I've read and I'll definitely look for more in the series.
