"It all went swimmingly."

By this I mean the book was very interesting and an easy read. If you enjoy reading about forensics, and like learning curious British phrases, as in "It all went swimmingly" and many more, you must read this book.

Although taking place during World War II, you seldom encounter the war, except for some descriptions of bombings, V-1s, V-2, soldiers from various countries who are either victims or perpetrators, black-marketers, and such.
