Another good read in this stand alone series.

Allen gives us another interesting ship board mystery from the early 1900s. Perhaps because I had read another "missing gold on ship" mystery years ago, I knew very early on where the thieves were going to hide the gold. Not because it was in the same place, but because I figured out who they were going to get it off the ship.
Meanwhile, even before the gold is stolen, there are a number of other smaller, mysteries concerning thefts, people and cats.
