Affixed to each is a gold-plated phonograph record, a message from Earth to possible extraterrestrials. The record contains 118 pictures of our planet and ourselves, greetings in 54 languages, and a representative sampling of the sounds of Earth from a rocket launching to an avalanche to kissing and 90 minutes of music.
