From back of book:
H. Martin Webb, music librarian, has become well known in music circles for his uncanny ability to discover previously unknown works in obsure archives. So when Jerome, an old college friend, his estranged wife and his current roomate are all murdered, it's only natural that Webb turn his deductive skills to solving the crimes. Oddly enough, he receives posthumous help from Jerome, who has written a mystery novel in which he himself was the victim. Now the manuscript is being mailed, a page at a time, by person or persons unknown, to the friends of the late author, each of whom had a motive for finishing him off. Only Webb, however, is able to elimatnate the false notes from this concerto of clues and bring the case to a satisfactory finle.
