Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature:
Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature:
I've got to say... the last couple of years I've been able to predict at least one or two of these nominees... This time, I haven't read a single one, and I've only heard of two of them! Does anyone have any favorites from the list?

I'm as at a loss as you are -- I've been meaning to read The Drowning Girl, and I know of R.A. MacAvoy and Tim Powers and Sherwood Smith. . . but that's about it. Fascinating! |

I've heard Drowning Girl mentioned-- though only that it exists, nothing about it either good or bad. Tim Powers is one of the authors that I keep buying when I see him on the clearance rack or on a really good sale (including this book) but somehow I've only read one of his books so far- Last Call, and I did like it a lot. R.A. MacAvoy - I've read her Tea With the Black Dragon a few years back and it was good, but I didn't feel a strong urge to go out and buy/read more right away. As far as this particular book, I wasn't even aware she was still writing. At least my library has a copy of everything with the exception of the Digger comics, so I can work on correcting my ignorance. |
