Carolyn, Thanks for posting this link. For those who have had the required 5 publications this is a wonderful opportunity. I was wondering if you are aware of any grants that an author who has never been published might be able to be considered for. Also, do you know of a site that one may search for available grants in differing fields (not necessarily writing, any field even grants for attending college) is that is a free site and the information received is free. I've found numerous ones that are sites that you must pay them to even priview the grant information, or they seem free at first but then you have to pay for the grant information to be sent to you. I was wondering if there are any grants available tor a hopeful author. |

If you live in NY, the NYFA one is this fall: http://www.nyfa.org/level3.asp?id=44&fid=1&sid=1 Again, if you are in NY, there is the Foundation Library. Their website may have some useful informaton even if you are out of state. Talk to whatever school you are thinking of attending and see what opportunities they may have. Are you talking about grad or undergrad? If you are thinking of law school, please PM me. I would also suggest going to your largest local library and see if anyone there can help you. Sadly, the financial woes that have hit everyone, have also effected foundations and the arts. Not for profits have been hit very hard. Sigh. I'm primarily a playwright, so I'm mostly up on theater/film stuff. If you (or anyone else on the board) have any interest in writing for theater pick up a copy of The Dramatists Sourcebook. A new one just came out in November. |
