I’m putting this here so EVERYONE will see it……

I’m sorry, but I have been seeing a LOT of rudeness on PBS here lately. And it’s mostly for stupid stuff. Stuff that could have easily been over looked just by not replying. Why do people insist on putting in their two cents when their just BAD PENNYS!!!   

I just read a post for a deal. The lady wanted to celebrate her birthday and tax day by giving everyone a deal. There is nothing wrong with that, except for one person didn’t like that she had a bunch of romance on her shelf and she/he decided  to send a PM (probably so no one else could see them making a fool of themselves) to the deal maker and chewed her out about the selection on the shelf.

THERE IS NO NEED FOR THIS!!!

IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE, THEN KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!

Just because a post for a deal is written dose not mean you have to respond rudely if you don't find something you like, because frankly they are doing us a favor by giving us deals.

It's THEIR right to post deals and it's OUR right to shut up and be thankful. If you don’t like the deal then go some place else.

I have met a lot of really GOOD people on here and I don’t see why anyone has to be rude.

So PLEASE let’s keep PBS a friendly place, people or like I said before, keep it to yourself.

I just noticed something. at the top of every post it says;

Club rule - Please, if you cannot be courteous and respectful, do not post in this forum.

Guess I'm not the only one who thinks rudeness is uncalled for, huh.

I fully agree Wendy there is no  excuse for rudeness!

thats why there is so many books  and shelves to choose from not everyone has the same taste if you dont see what you like move on and keep your comments to yourself....thanks for bringing it up

We all have different tastes in our reading choices.   If you don't like what someone has to offer on their book shelf, GO TO ANOTHER BOOK SHELF!!!   This person was generous enough to offer a 2 for1.  Let's not be rude.

I agree with "No Rudeness".  I've come across a couple of rude people and my answer to their rudeness is to keep their name on a list and not order any books from them. 

As had been said above, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I've had several box offers refused because they didn't see anything they liked on my shelf, but never any rudeness.  Not once, and here I asked that person specifically to look at my shelf!

That's really low, to PM someone because you didn't like their choices.  So move on...what was the point of the PM?  To get her to change her posting or reading habits?  Ridiculous.

I hope she reported the rude PMs.

We need to appreciate our freedom of diversity.   Not judge just because someone believes or feels differently than ourselves.

I decided to post on here because it's starting to get down the list, and I think everyone needs to see it. 

I'm a regular on Craig's List (which is how I found this site) and I love it...but I'm actually thinking of stopping using it (CL) because 98% of the people there are the trolls of even the rude world.

There should be somewhere that people are kind and courteous to others...and in a place like PBSwap, they should abound, because if anything in life is varied, it's people's taste in literature.  That's why there are so many different kinds.

We shouldn't let the good places, like PBSwap fall into the gutters.

If everyone was the same.....life would be so boring.

And I agree with the earlier post on here......if you don't find something you like on someone's shelf...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!  There will be someone else who likes what they have. 

Remember...you don't have the RIGHT to be offered a deal...they decided to do it as a blessing for you.

Thanks for creating this thread! I totally agree with everyone. I just joined on Friday and people have been rude to me. Just because I didn't know all the rules, everytime I would create a post, someone would say something rude to me. Now I'm not going to give their names, but they know who they are. Some have been NICE about helping me out, but some of the rudeness is uncalled for. I also posted a thread advertising 2 brand new books for 2 credits (a book per credit) and people jumped all over me saying you cannot post a book for more than 1 credit. Please READ THE ENTIRE THREAD before thinking you know what you are talking about when posting. I try to be nice about it, but some of it has just gotten out of hand.

I couldn't agree more Lauren! When people offer deals, it is because they want it to go to a good home. If you ask for a deal and they say no, that is the END OF DISCUSSION. Either pay the credits or move on.

Kaitlin, sorry that people have been rude to you as a new member!  sheesh!  There are plenty of us that are nice so I hope you stick around

Leslie...I have met LOTS OF NICE PEOPLE on here! And it is such a wonderful sight that I wouldn't dream of quitting. I have already found many books that I like! Thanks for your kindness :)

I haven't been here too long myself, and when I first started posting with questions and what not a couple people made some rude comments.  I don't remember who they were or anything specific, but I just ignored it and moved on.  Most people have been very friendly, especially in the games.

I think it is wonderful that people post deals, and alot of them I don't order from because I'm just not that interested in their shelf.  Sucks for me.  That's not their fault.  Move on, look elsewhere.

I'm really surprised that there are that many rude people on here!! I've been a member here for a couple of years and have only encountered 1 extremely rude woman and I very rudely told her (in a P.M.) that she needs not be a member on this site because her attitude would not be tolerated.   This site is great and I've found a lot of new authors and learn something new every day. I feel lucky to be a part of this site!!!

Although I am having that same problem over at SADVD. The rudeness runs rampant over there, I'm thinking of dropping that site.

I see people asking for help with deals and credits. you would be surprised at how many people ask for help with like a credit because a wishlist book came up and people just start helping out. No questions ask they just give because they want to help. thats the kind of people should be on here. NICE PEOPLE!

So i say to the world; If i have something you need or want, ASK and i will help you if i can. you can see in my signature that even my mom-in-law and husband are the same. if we have something on our shelve you want a deal on, ask me or them and no matter whos shelf its on WE WILL MAKE YOU A DEAL!!!! If you have a question about something, ASK me. I may not what i'm talking about but i'll try to haelp you the beast i can. If i have a credit that someone needs (sadly i'm not good at keeping them:(  )BUT IF I HAD IT i would give it to you.

I agree if you don't like someone's deal, etc just move on there is no point in replying at all!! But I will say there are more good people here than bad. PBS is awesome!!! :)

No kidding !!!  we have a few rotten apples here, i had a few encounters myself with  members  demanding that the requested book was in " brand new condition"  my reply to that? i cancelled the request and even removed the book from my bookshelf.

No rudeness here!  Welcome new PBS'ers!!  I have been a member for almost 6 months now and to this day have not encountered any rudeness directed my way. I agree with the rest of you, if you don't have anything nice to say, better to say nothing at all. I'm really sorry to hear this happened and it's sadder to see an adult treating another this way. It's totally inexcusable.  I log-in to PBS because I want to be here and would like to think it is the same for everyone else. It's my "Happy" place and feel fortunate to be a member. New PBS'ers, here's wishing you the very best of experiences  and hope with time you will feel the same way that I do. I LOVE PBS!!!
