For our purposes, a Random Act of Kindness (to be referred to as a RAOK) is defined as something nice one PBS member does for another PBS member with NO CREDITS changing hands!  The  idea  is for people to post items they are willing to send another member FREE of charge or credits (including shipping). This is a great way to make someone's day at the same time that you can declutter your house of things you no longer need/use but weren't  sure you wanted to discard.  NOTE:  Some of us don't remember every member's nickname, so it is helpful to write that by your address label, when you send a RAOK, to make it easier for receiving members to thank you.

The  way to do this,  is to list items to this thread that you are willing to send as RAOKs the way we list damaged books/ARCs/etc. in the Book Bazaar, and make them first come, first serve. When an item has been spoken for, please cross it off or delete it from your post. You might want to show who got it but that's up to you. Just  make sure you update as frequently as possible so that no one is disappointed. Please everyone just use one post each and keep it updated.     NOTE:  Before posting a ROAK, you might want to check this month's *** I Wish thread to see if you are able to fill a members' Wish, first.  This is especially true for Coke codes, boxtops for education, etc.

If you see something you'd like,  PM the member with your address.  To post things you are wishing for, see the *** Monthly I WIsh thread.***  And to keep these threads clean and easy to read, please use the ***Monthly Thank you thread*** to thank people for things you have received.  Always let the members know, either in a PM or Thank You that you rec'd the item so they know it's not lost.

Obviously since RAOKs are free but cost the sender shipping, if you request a RAOK from someone and they aren't able to ship it for a while, please be patient!  Please mark out items as they are taken so other members are not disappointed.

PM me if you want:

A black plastic skeleton, as tall and wide as my hand, a little hole in the top to put a string through to hang it up   TAKEN

Five Toy Story 3 stickers (Rex, Slinky, the hedgehog toy, Woody and the telephone car, and random group shot) TAKEN

Three fit-in-the-palm-of-your-hand rubber ducks (one pink with blue stars as eyes, one black with white X's as eyes, and one white with a blue and red target on its side) TAKEN

Small bag of buttons, colorful, great for crafting purposes, most are square rather than circular
(yes, I have been 'wishing' for buttons for a play I'm working on, but we've had to take out the "dangerous" buttons as they will now be falling from the catwalk and could hurt someone if we allow the heavier and pointier buttons to fall)
TAKEN

I have 3 calendars for 2011. I'd prefer to send 1 only per person..   I may have more free calendars buried in my office. I'll post them as I find them. Thanks. Terry

Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue 2011 calendar.  Also recieved in an ad. All nice horse pictures and includes each horse's story on how they came to be in the rescue ranch.

Canvas Classics 2011 calendar, free from the Alzheimer's Association. Pictures are paintings of old tyme era.

Does anyone like cookbooks from organizations like Churches, Junior Leagues, etc.?  I have the Potomac Cookbook, by The Women's Society of Potomac Church, (c) 1963.

Everything is typed or handwritten, hand illustrated (mostly whimsical drawings, not pictures of the recipe result).  It was comb-bound, but I removed the comb to keep what I wanted, then lost it.

There is a chunk of recipes at the back that I considered keeping and changed my mind, that just need to be reintegrated, page-wise.

PM me if anyone wants it!

I notice that some people here like to make their own bookmarks. I have some bookmark-size clippingsof rose-printed paper leftover form a previous project. I have no use for them but it occurred to me that they might make cute bookmarks. First person to PM me with their address can have them! TAKEN

I have over 150 coupons available to give away. Please PM me which category you want the coupon in and I'll let you know what kind I have. (Might be easier that way rather then listing over 150 things on here.)

I have these types of coupons:
- beverages
- books & magazines
- entertainment
- foods
- health care
- household
- personal care
- pet care
- photography
- professional services
- restaurants
- toys and games

I added a little booklet "101 Amazing Magic Tricks with a Svengali Deck".  No idea what that is but I'm sure someone else will!

I have a brochure describing Covered Bridges of Columbia and Montour Counties, Pennsylvania

Also If you have a ton of kids books you want to give for a good cause, Operation Paperback is seeking books to send to the children of military families.
