Asimov always has something interesting to say about humanity will evolve. The disappointing thing about his novels is that it always the technology that evoleves and not people. Humanity doesn't seem to have learned much in a millennium. None the less his cop character, Baley, is an excellent main character and full of quirks and prejudices. In solving on a murder on Solaria, he has to overcome not only agoraphobia but intense distrust of robots on a world where the robots outnumber some twenty to thirty to one. One of the classics of science fiction.
