I acquired a bunch of books recently that have a name written on the page edges at the top of the book and in the upper corner of the first page before the title page. The help docs state that "A name written on the page edges is okay (if it does not bleed in and obscure text on the text pages." But what if a marker was used to black out the name? If it doesn't bleed onto the text pages would this still be postable? Also, the help docs state that "an author's signature on the title page is OKAY". Would the previous owner's name be acceptable if its not the author's signature? What if the name is blacked out with a marker? Would that change things? I know the safest route would be not to post if there's any doubt but I'm curious to know what the community thinks. |

I would think all of those would be postable as long as it doesn't obscure text. |

I agree with NewRuth--all of the situations you mention above would be postable. Only if the writing were on any of the actual text pages would make the book unpostable. (I define a text page as a page that is part of the actual story--it wouldn't include the title page or the copyright page, etc.) |
