Hello everyone.  I looked around and did not see this question anywhere, if it is a repeat sorry.

I have some books that were given to me to read and have people initials or name and date they read in the front of the inside cover of the book, couple of them back cover. In Pen no less. *rolls eyes* Otherwise they are in great shape.

Did I need to list them on the damaged book discussion board?

Would like some suggestions on what to do if this is not where I list them.

Thanks

Notes or siggys on the cover or flyleaf are fine. As long as they do not interfere with the text of the book they are postable here.

Yup, what Melanie said.  The specific wording from the Help Center is: a signature or note on the flyleaf or inside front or back cover is OKAY.  So long as a requester doesn't have Conditions to the contrary, you're in the clear :)

These are OK. Although I didn't post some where my aunt wrote her name in black marker in large letters on the front cover.  I didn't want to risk that. But I've posted several w/someone's name on the inside cover.  I think if they forbade that then there'd be a lot less books posted because it's so common for people to do.  I've never felt the need to put my name in my books but then I don't lend out the few that I keep.  (my aunt was in a nursing home so I think that's why she wrote her name on the cover)

When I was in college, I used a return address label on the front inside cover.  I would have been such a drag to lose a book right before I needed it to write a paper, especially if I had written notes in the margins.  I think I probably forgot one or two at work but my coworkers were able to tell the book was mine and put it in my drawer.

The labels were also great because my friends remembered to return a borrowed book to me.

I receive a lot of books from my mom and there are so many that have names or initials along with "Very good", "okay", "hated it"...I actually get a little kick out of seeing what someone has written as a little review...ummm, that is until I get one with a "spoiler"...lmbo:)

Thank you so much, all of you were most helpful.

I wote my name in books when I was young but around 6th grade I stopped.I did not want others to know what kind of books I  read. LOL Look at me now.

Yep it is a good way to keep track of your books.

I print out address labels without my address.
