Lizzie had been young and beautiful on her honeymoom. She is still beautiful in Duncan's eyes. Perhaps even more so. She has stood by him through good and bad. Somday, as soon as he could afford it, he is determined to get her something really special. Something that would speak of her true worth-and his deep love.
A string of perfectly formed pearls-it would take Duncan years save the money required to buy them. But his carefully kept secret, becomes a symbol of the family legacy. And with the passing of time, for their last great grand daughter who has a very special need, the pearl necklace will take on extraordinary value.

Nana a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother named Lizzie has a husband Duncan who loves her so much he wants to give her an heirloom gift that she can pass on in the family, but also to show that he loves her dearly. Poor Duncan wants to buy Lizzie a string of Pearls. But they are expensive and it takes him 38 years of marriage saving before he can give her this heirloom gift. A few years later Duncan dies and what keeps Lizzie going is to see the sex and personality of the upcoming great grandchild. Beth, Lizzie's favorite child ever is born and to them a love and a bond that will last for all time. But our story is not quite done yet! This a remarkable book about love.
