If you are a teacher, a parent or a group leader, this book is filled with ways to enrich your time with your children. This hand book, filled with lots of illustrations for outdoor learning with children provides:
A wealth of stimulating ideas for rousing their curiosity
Tips on managing groups outdoors
A treasure trove of fact and information
Easy to follow instrucitons for useful and creative projects using materials collected in nature.
EAch chapter covers a group of living things ( trees, plants, mammals, fish, invertebrates, birds) a season or an enviroment (seashore forest desert).
The emphasis is less on the facts than on the attitude of sharpening awareness. There is art on every page including photos, drawings, and charts many of them created by children themselves!
Special chapters on ecology, and keeping in step with nature are included.
