I have looked on the help docs and cannot find this..so maybe someone can get me there.

On the Kindle device home page the list of your books begins. I have 11 pages of books. I want to jump to page 8. I cannot figure out how to do this other than clicking 8 times with the forward arrow.

I don't want to do this. I want to jump to page 8. How do I do this?

click on the number 8 on your keyboard, then the controller button, this also works if you are looking for a certain title, just type the first letter of the book and it will take you to the books staring with that letter.

This  did not work in the way I wanted it to. It would find all the instances of "8" or "t" but not jump me to the 8th page. Am I missing something?

Kathy I'd like to know if that is possible, also. I have 250 categories, which is spread over about 28 pages.

Mind you, I have a K2i, not a K3.

I've got it in my hand. My Home pages are organized by title of the book, not by author or last added. I'm on the Home screen, page 1. I press the letter J on the keyboard. A small window appears at the bottom of the screen and it says Click to go to J titles. I click the controller, and I go to the page where the J titles start.

The same thing happens to find page, say, 5 of my books. I'm on the Home screen page, page 1. I press the number 5 on the keyboard. A small window appears at the bottom of the screen and it says Click to go to page 5. I click the controller and I go to page 5 of my list of books.

I can't imagine that this would have changed that much for the K3. ??

ETA: Make sure you're hitting the Controller and not the Return button. If you hit the Return button, that's when it will search all your books and show you a list of every J or 5 in your books.

This is what I found for the K3 outside the Amazon Help documents. Lots of K3 keyboard tips at this site. I tried to copy and paste but the formatting defeated me. The instructions are under Home Screen: http://blog.diannegorman.net/2010/09/kindle-3-keyboard-shortcuts-et-al/

I'm going to try that in a minute.

Marilyn, thanks for the web site. Very helpful! And the search worked!

Anne, good deal, glad to hear it. Oh, I do love it when things work the way they're supposed to.

Kathy, any luck?

Yes, finally! That website helped. And then the very faint directions in the search box helped. I had my display collections first then Im not sure what. This works much better if I have my pages displayed alpha by title, then type in the first letter of a title (say, "s"), then directions clearly state to go to "s" titles. So I may have to display my pages that way instead of having my collections on the first page.
