Just inviting anyone who has tips or advice on doing necktie quilts to post.  (quilt made of actual nectkies, not just those that look like neckties).  I plan on doing one as soon as I gather up enough ties and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot on the net for this.

Thanks

http://www.amazon.com/Daddys-Ties-Shirley-Botsford/dp/0801985218/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228355755&sr=1-1

Hopefully the link will work. If not the book is titled 'daddy's ties' on amazon.com. I haven't used the book but I remember it being fairly popular at a local quilt shop when I was first taking some classes. They have it where you can 'look inside' and when I checked there was quite a bit of the written part about the ties. also has other projects besides quilts.

I would think you could do just about any pattern but the care of the quilt wont' be the same as if you used cotton since ties are silk and other materials that cant' be machine washed. crazy quilts would work though but most of those have a lot of decorative stitches seems like.

I used to frequent one of the quilt forums and still go there from time to time(was just on there a few days ago) and you can find the right section and post your question if you dont get enough response here. the one i like is quilting.about.com
