this odd little book by Lisa See's mother left me cold. at times it was hard to follow and figure out the message so veiled between beautiful words and sentences.
the back of the book made this sound like more than it is but keeps hinting at.the author never really comes right out and says what really is happening...is it war...is it plague. i'm still not sure.
