Compelling story with historical insights into the first years of the fledgling national pastime. If you like baseball you'll enjoy this book. If you don't like baseball you will still enjoy this book, it is kind of about baeball like the movie "Bull Durham" was about baseball.
My husband says he enjoyed the detailed history in this book and that really added to the story.
