This wasn't nearly as good as Black Gangster. I can't profess to know a lot about Goines or his books, I only know a basic background on Goines himself and have only read these two books as of yet. I expected this to be more like Black Gangster in the effect of making me think, making my emotions come to the surface, etc. It didn't do any of that at all.
This isn't a bad book and I don't mean to say that but while Black Gangster is easily a five star book for me, this is a two and a half star. I'm hoping that the rest of his books are more like Black Gangster than Never Die Alone.
I got the impression this was written quickly, maybe to just get it published and on the shelves.
