"This book helps the reader understand the roles that children in alcoholic families adopt, the problems they face in adulthood as a result, and what they can do to break the pattern of destruction."

Many adult children of alcoholics will find themselves amazed that others experienced some of the same challenges and are suffering similar problems as a result of growing up in an alcoholic household. There are many great explanations about cause and effect of relationship dynamics. This book is worth many times the purchase price.

If you have grown up or lived with an alcoholic, this book is a MUST! It covers every topic you could possibly think of. Living with an alcoholic is a VERY difficult thing to do. At first we may not even think it is the alcohol that is driving the person or persons behavior. Once we realize it IS the alcohol, we feel VERY alone! This book goes into great depth into learning how to 'deal with it'. Either if you are IN the current situation or have gone through the situation. A GREAT self-help book! I would HIGHLY suggest this book!

Why are the children of alcoholics more likely to become alcholic? What kinds of problems do they face in adulthood as a result of their childhood experiences? What can we do to help adults who grew up in alcholic homes -- or are now involved with others who did -- and want to understand their childhoods and restructure lives?

This "little green book", as it has come to be known to hundreds of thousands of C.O.A.'s and A.C.O.A.'s will help answer those questions. It is meant to help the reader understand the roles children in alcoholic families adopt, the problems they face in adulthood as a result, and what they can do to break the pattern of destruction.
