  I never knew that life could be so hard. I never knew that God would look down upon me, my family, us and decide that it was time for one of us to meet our maker. I never knew that it happened even if the person wasn't ready or the family. I never knew that life could be blissful for one second and then in the blink of an eye your entire world as you know it is turned upside down. Tossed. Like lettuce in a salad spinner. Dry and happy at first, crisp even and then wet and soggy, just like you. No one knows how to mourn a loss. Some cry, others yell and many retreat into their own shells and ask themselves, "What if?" And that is the hardest question of them all.
