Hello,

I was at Borders today and picked up the new Blaze historical.  Any thoughts from anyone's who has already read it?

Thanks!

I bought it a few weeks ago, started it, put it aside and haven't picked it back up.  And that's surprising because I like Hope Tarr (the author).  Maybe I'll try again after I finish the book I'm currently reading.

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.  Especially if/when you consider :

1)  I don't really enjoy the time period featured

B)  I don't really enjoy older woman / younger man storylines (granted, there is only a 2 year difference)

I believe I gave it a strong "B" rating .

I think Sherri posted a week or so ago that she liked it...enough that I picked it up at walmart LOL and as someone else said it's not my time period either!

I usually like Hope Tarr, but I was not really impressed with this one.  I was excited too, with it being the first Historical Blaze.  I thought it was just so-so.  All I can say about this book is that it has tons of moisture in the storyline!!

I started it last night before I went to bed and read about fifty pages.  It's good but not great so far.  I'll stick with it though and finish it and let you know what I think :)

I love hot historicals, so when I saw this one I bought it right away.  But I've had so much to read that It's still sitting on my bedside TBR!

I enjoyed this one. I love the Blaze line and I love the medieval time period, so it was a good mix for me. I hope there are more historicals in the Blaze line in the future. Lynne, my suggestion is to move it to the top of the pile. LOL

Yup, I think I'll be getting to this one VERY SOON!

FYI - There were some pretty hot Regencies published within the Harlequin Historical line recently.  They basically read like Blaze books.  Both were by Bronwyn Scott.  They were Notorious Rake, Innocent Lady and The Pickpocket Countess

If you want to get a sense of Bronwyn Scott's style first, she wrote one of the recent on-line reads on eharlequin.com.   In fact, the on-line story features one of the peripheral characters from Notorious Rake, Innocent Lady.    Here's the link for the on-line read:  http://www.eharlequin.com/articlepage.html?articleId=1337&chapter=1

I was glad to see they were coming out with historical Blazes.  I have't tried one yet though.

I just finished this new Historical Blaze  (Bound to Please by Hope Tarr).   It was good, not great but good.  Amanda was right, there is a lot of moisture in the storyline!    Their seemed to be a lack of conflict in the story.   It was there, but very few pages were devoted to it.   For a romance between two members of rival clans, it seemed to go a little too smoothly.

I still prefer Bronwyn Scott's novels.  Unfortunately, her next novel isn't coming out until 2009.   Wahhhhhhh!!!!
