I bought a YA paperback for my daughter that has a strong odor.  It isn't a "bad" smell, seems kind of inky too me.  It is  WL book and I wanted to post it when she is done but I am worried someone might complain.  Should I risk a RWAP?

Yes Margaret, some inks have a stronger odor than others.  Hopefully the ink smell will become less as the book is read, having the pages open and air circulating around them may well take care of the problem.

Now that would be an interesting RC:

"I will not accept new books because of the new book smell". wink

Post it. Smell is subjective and it isn't one of the things that makes a book unpostable so they can't rightfuly RWAP. If a person wants a book that doesn't smell they will put it in their RCs

I like the inky smell. Remember waaaaaaay back when you used to get copies off the copier and the first thing you did was smell it? I missed that in school, but I remember asking my parents about it after I saw them do it on "Fast time at Ridgemount High" LOL

Mary - I do remeber that smell!

This doesn't smell good to me, that is why I asked.

As long as you don't get an RC saying 'no odors', it sounds postable to me.

Besides, I like the new book smell! I recieved a book that was like new earlier this month and it smelled quite wonderful.

Does anyone else draw a deep breath when they step into a bookstore? I know I do! ;)

I am mailing it out today, so wish me luck.  It does seem to have already faded some so I am not too worried.  Book looks like it was never read.  It was requested as soon as I posted it, don't you just love that!
