Find the ISBN of the book you want to add to the database (through Amazon or another source) and use the "Advanced Search" to see if it's in the database yet.  (Remember to search for all books, not just posted books.)  Usually you can then add the book to your reminder list and then your wish list.  Sometimes the book just isn't in the system yet -- keep trying and eventually it will be there.

Depending on which genres you are reading, some of them have forum threads about upcoming releases to put on your WishList. Paranormal, for example, has a sticky thread about it. There may be others.

There are lots of sites that have book news.  And checking the author's or publisher's web-sites are a good source of information.  I like to go to Fantasticfiction.com because I read mostly fiction.  But there are many others.  They should give you at least the ISBN of the upcoming releases and usually the date and title.

If you search for it by ISBN and it doesn't show in the PBS database, keep checking back because that initial search triggers the computer thingamawhatsies to search other databases and add it here, does that make sense? I'd search for it daily until you find it, to make sure you get on the WL early.
