http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2009/05/the-buffyverse-continues.html I saw this a few days ago and I have mixed feelings. I'd love another Buffy movie provided it was better than the original, and perhaps more TV-canon than original movie-canon (ie vampires turn to dust when you kill them). I wouldn't even mind a new cast as the Buffy universe just keeps expanding. BUT no Joss Whedon? I don't think Buffy would be the same without him. |

Interesting as that sounds, I have to agree. That would be like continuing "Supernatural" without Eric Kripke. It just doesn't ring a true. |

Buffy, or Slayer anything, without Joss??? that is wrong on so very many levels I don't know where to start other then to "just say no"! Not something I plan to support with my movie going dollars if Joss is not on board.

This movie goes against the way the series ended. To ignore that is to deny the show existed which is wrong. |

Erin, why do you think it'd go against the way the series ended? From what I've seen, the movie might not even feature Buffy, and the series ended with lots of potential slayers to follow around. Not to mention all those slayers who came before Buffy. |

Actually, I checked Wikipedia and it says the new movie would not be a sequel or prequel to the existing franchise. If they want to remake the original movie into something of much better quality, that would be fine with me. But I don't want something that erases the seven seasons on TV and the season 8 comics. |
