I just noticed that on my WL that there's a new button for Buy From Amazon.  Has anyone else noticed any other little changes?

ETA: I've just also noticed that book details has changed.  I discovered it when I checked a book out from my Reminder List.

There is a new look- the buttons are a different color.  They've also changed the search screens (like when you click on the author's name to see all their books).  Not so sure I like it- you used to be able to see from the list if it was book #1 or 2 in a series, but now it's all by date.  You kind of have to click on everything, which is a bit of a pain if the author has several series going...

Not sure I like the new book description page...if the book description is longer than 3 or 4 lines you have to click on "read more" to get the rest of the book description...sigh, another step. I guess mostly it will just be a matter of getting used to the changes. But I do like that you can access Amazon book reviews if there are none by PBS members.

Now, if TPTB would just do something more pro-active about weeding out inactive members! THAT would make me truly happy! Getting tired of books rolling over multiple times!

I don't like the new button. It's huge! lol

I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

I'm with Sally though. I'd prefer they work on something like inactive accounts rather than little random stuff.

Looks to me as if they are trying to make sure they get credit from Amazon, if someone orders from there.  If it's available to buy from PBS, it says "Buy New" and if not it says "Buy from Amazon".  I think they are just trying to get their tiny % of sales so they can keep this site free for us.

We don't always know the WHY of the changes on here.  I always assume it's for the good of the site.  That doesn't mean I have to LIKE them all.  lol

The button is gigantic, and I don't like the secondary step to access the full description, but I suppose that it is an effort to garner sales commissions from Amazon.

That said, I too would prefer a little more effort to week out inactive members. It's frustrating to have an order keep rolling over, and over - but maybe that too encourages people to buy from Amazon. :-)

There is a different look to the WL and book descriptions.  It will take some getting used to.

I do like that there's a link to the reviews on amazon.  That'll cut out a step.

We've had that button for quite some time, they've just changed the formating (size & design).

I'll also be using the new link directly to Ami reviews  cheeky

Great,  two threads about the pain and suffering of having to endure an Amazon button and.....GASP....and extra click of the mouse to get a look at a book description.

I don't like the gigantic Amazon button either, it makes my WL look busy and cluttered.  I also don't like that the books available at the PBS market stay at the top of my WL.  I like to set it to Estimate and I have to scroll down and weed out the PBS market ones to see where I'm at for the day w/ each book that's next in line to come to me.  I get why it's there and totally want to support the site, but if I'm interested in buying from the Market, I can always use the option to see what's available... I'd rather that it be an option... rather than having them automatically at the top of my WL all the time.

If you offer deals on your shelf (or just enjoy random multiple orders), it may be a problem for you and your buyers as well. Leaving to look at the remainder of the description takes the buyers off your shelf. So, if they are unaware of that (and many are) and think they are ordering from you - they may well not be. There have been several threads in the past where people have had this happen, and have been very unhappy that they didn't get expected freebies, spent a full credit on a book that they otherwise wouldn't have, didn't save the seller postage, etc.  I can only see it increasing (and random multiple orders decreasing), as leaving the shelf is necessary far more often.
