I really think there needs to be a Paranormal genre.  None of the other genres really fit.  There are lots of books that would fit into that catagory.  I have to use individual tags to find some of the books I like.  It's just not the same as browsing a genre.  The tags only work for individual paranormal creatures.  Any comments would be welcome.

Also, how do you contact the club directly.

Bottom of the page, contact us.

A paranormal genre would be nifty.  Now our books show up mainly as romance, ghost, ect or fantasy, contemporary.  You can add additional genre selections to books by going to the edit book data page.  The genre selections are very important to update as that is how books get searched and shown in the opening page banners.

ETA   So are you thinking of this under romance?  Or under fantasy?

i interpreted what she said as she's thinking or 'paranormal' *instead* of romance or fantasy.  which i just don't think will happen.  right now the genre lists are from what PBS gets out of whatever database they initially get books out of, and paranormal would be a custom genre that books would have to be manually changed to.  plus i don't think that would be appropriate, as some people prefer only paranormal romance and some like only urban fantasy and some like both.  anything that would make it more difficult to differentiate between the two wouldn't be a good thing.

right now, paranormal romance pretty much should have the genre 'Romance >> Fantasy, Futuristic & Ghost' and that's pretty reasonable, and urban fantasy probably mostly goes under 'Science Fiction & Fantasy >> Fantasy'.  it's always nice if you tag a book either paranormal romance or urban fantasy after you've read it, to make it easier to find for others.

a subgenre of 'Science Fiction & Fantasy >> Fantasy' might be nice - maybe paranormal, maybe urban fantasy.  although i can just see the back-and-forth over what would count as 'paranormal', and what would not.  some books i consider 'regular' fantasy rather than paranormal turn up fairly regularly in the paranormal forums & swap games.

I can imagine the bother to go back and re tag books.   Yuck.

SF/F  F does have a subgroup of contemporary.  Which is what I put on the urban fantasy / paranormal.  And we do have the option to have more than one genre on a book.   Lovely feature.  No need to debate SFF or romance.  Can be both.

I think a genre tag in the book wiki might be more what we want.  I know someone is entering creatures under character name spaces.
