"Not Since 'Gone With the Wind' has a book told the South's story in the way that "New Moon Rising" does. Miss Price has a feeling for the land , its beauty & its secrets." according to Book News. "One fo the most rewarding experiences of reading a novel about people of another era is to see the parallels of our own time...There is humanity & warmth in this penetrating novel which is based on fact," states the Christian Herald. "Her plot moves swiftly & sensitively, & her character come to life in a way that most novels of today have no time for," says the Charleston News & Courier.

This is my favorite Eugenia Price book. It is history (pre-Civil War through the Civil War) wrapped up in a beautiful love story, filled with the faith of Deborah Gould who loves her Lord Jesus and honors Him all her life. The love she has for her husband and he for her is inspiring.
