Loved this first sequel to Twilight! The introduction of the werewolves added a lot to the story--I really liked the character of Jacob in the movie too so was glad to see his character expanded in the sequel. The description of Bella's deep depression is very realistic.
However, this book was not as well written as the first book. And it really rushed the story--the Cullens don't return to the plot til page 382 of 563 total. Meyer whips thru Alice and Bella's trip to Italy to visit the Volturi and save Edward--that should have taken a couple hundred pages based on her typical attention to detail.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first! This continues the story of Edward and Bella. Jacob becomes a much greater part of the story at this point.
I highly recommend this series!
I am a mom- and my 16 yr old loves these books too!

This series is the most addicting set of books ever. I have officially JUMPED on the Twilight Bandwagon. Yes, you may call be CRAZY, but the whole vampire thing has got me intrigued and curious.
I only gave this book 4.5 stars. Didnt like it as much as Twilight. It was a slower read too. Maybe cause I thought there were holes in the storyline. But still good enough to cause me to want to read the next one.

Bella and Edward begin to have problems. Edward leaves Bella near the beginning of the book. Then we have about 150 pages of Bella's depression. I was so bored with this part and just wanted to tell her to get over it. Happily, the story picked up near the half-way point and improved immensely.

loved loved loved it! at first i had a hard time with it because it was so much about bella's relationship with jacob, but i learned to really like him. i love the storyline- it just gets more and more interesting.
Though an excellent read, the first 2/3 of New Moon is emotionally difficult to get through. The author recommends reading it twice. The first time, people skip pages to get through the heartache. The second read lets the reader enjoy the story.
The first part of the book follows Bella as she obsesses over Edward. Her reckless behavior seems to spawn hallucinations of Edward's voice. After a cliff jumping stunt, Edward believes that Bella has died and visits the Volturi on a suicidal mission.
Meanwhile the werewolves back at La Push is on the trail of Victoria and Laurent. Victoria is out to kill the defenseless Bella as revenge for the death of her lover in Twilight.

Good book... but after the first, it's a bit draggie... definitely teenager level.
This book was far different from the "Twilight" book before it. It introduces interesting new characters and a side of Bella we haven't seen. As before it is a page turner right up to the end. I love these books. I will keep a set to read over and over.
